The fusion of cultures is a very dominating characteristic of both cities, and the fusion of these two cities live inside my heart every day.
Caracas is a gorgeous valley, which happens to be the capital of an incredible country called Venezuela. I do not intent to fall into political nonsense and discuss if this person is better than the rest, or if the ideal that have been imposed on my country are the solution. I want the world to know about the Caracas that lives and breathes in my heart, vivid in every breath and present with every heart beat. The city that has the prefect Cerro El Avila as it’s guardian, as our provider of oxygen, as our source of energy; where I learned to walk, love and live with all the passion that comes from my Latin American roots. Where the green and the blue fusion in a perfect rhythm of colors and the spring-like weather surrounded me 365 days a year. The city that taught me how to battle, how to see the world, how to admire the fusion of tastes and the beauty of other cultures. Where I grew, as a person and as a human being and from where I decided to leave one day, never forgetting the love that will tie me to my home forever.
Toronto and it’s welcoming soul opened it’s heart for me in 2006, showing me that there is a second place I can call home. This city has no mountains, but it lies in the shore of a beautiful lake that is so immense, sometimes I feel I am standing in front of the ocean. And for a reason I have yet to understand, the CN Tower, iconic construction of this incredible city, has become a symbol
of dreams come true, a live representation that I am here and that everything in life that I set my heart to will become real, no matter how hard I have to work for it. Toronto has as many flavours as it has nations living together in it’s core and surroundings, with a very rare combination of a big cosmopolitan metropolis and the charm of a small town. This city marvels me every day, with every little happening. For many people that live here, it is filled with imperfections and problems, but for me it is filled with colors, smiles, that sapphire blue of the lake in a perfect winter day and the promise that every day will be a better one. I learn more about the city every day and also from the incredible extension of it’s surroundings that is composed of so many interesting sights that I am not sure there is enough time to enjoy them all. I see possibility in this land of Maple, I see future and every day when I turn East, I can always catch a glimpse of the shiniest point of the tower, reminding me that dreams do come true.
